A Place to Call HomeCommunity Link operates six Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs), which are small group homes providing 24 hour supervision for the residents. The homes are located in Aviston, Breese, Carlyle, Germantown, and Highland. Each home has five to eight residents and the homes are located in neighborhoods close to community services and activities. Staff provides assistance and support for each person based upon their individual needs and desires. All persons are encouraged to participate in the daily activities of living in their own home including responsibility for room care, personal possessions, sharing of household chores, and assisting with meals. Individualized assistance is given for medication management and financial assistance. Community Link is commited to the safety of the residents. We provide a nurse consultant, staff certified in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Crisis Prevention Institute techniques (CPI), and the homes are inspected by the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal and quarterly by Community Link’s Safety Committee. All staff and residents practice safety drills each month. In addition to training, all staff are subject to drug testing and criminal background checks. Participants must by 18 years of age or older, and approved for the program by the Illinois Department of Human Services. For more information contact the Intake Coordinator at EricR@commlink.org. |
