CILA - Intermittent Care

The Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) - Intermittent program provides support to adults with developmental disabilities who otherwise would have difficulty living alone.

Participants in this program  reside in their own homes or apartments  and  are provided  assistance in coordinating resources   and   establishing/maintaining   relationships with other agencies and programs in their community.

They also receive assistance with home living skills,
appointments, recreation and leisure, and transportation.

Family Support provides a wide array of services to adults with developmental disabilities living in the community. Services and supports may include case coordination, assistance with obtaining and maintaining entitlements, home living skills, appointments, recreation and leisure, and transportation.

A vacation is planned annually for Intermittent CILA/Family Support clients who successfully budget throughout the year to save enough money for a trip.  This year, the group traveled to Branson, Missouri, for three days and two nights of relaxation and fun.   Their entertainment included comedy and music shows at the "Baldknobbers Jamboree Show" and the "50's At The Hop Show", a land and water ride on the famous "Ride The Ducks" cruise, and a visit to "Playtime Pizza", a new amusement area.  The adventure continued with a tram ride through the Fantastic Caverns to view the beautiful and natural features of underground rock formations.  Their last stop on the route home was the Russell Stover Candy Store in Lebanon, Missouri, for some sampling of their candies.

FUSION, the agency’s newest family support service, takes on a different approach on how clients can become active members of their community. The basis for the program is community integration. Participants complete an assessment which helps to identify their individual interests. This tool helps staff to locate different community outlets that the client would like to become involved with. The next step is to educate the community sources on the importance and benefits of community integration. The goal is to create positive friendships with other members of the community.

Respite Care Services provide assistance to families and individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the family home in Clinton County. Respite care is short-term care provided to the individual, which allows family members or other care givers to be away from the home. Services are intended to help promote and support the concept of individuals remaining in their home and avoiding placements in other alternative environments.
